The Music Publisher negotiate on the Composers behalf to increase usage of the compositions with third parties. There are many variables and no request is the same, though the Music Publisher handles these terms:
- Parties that do not gain any revenue (now or in the future) are allowed to use the composition for free
- Small parties or parties that are unlikely to have a budget can opt in to transfer an % amount of their revenue to the Music Publisher
- Parties whom have paid compostion marketplaces for usage of the composition are exempt of licensing as long its within the agreements of the composition marketplace. In addtion these parties need to be able to provide proof of purchase upon request by the Music Publisher
